Governor’s Workforce Board : Paid summer internship program for high school students

30 Mar 2018 9:27 AM | Tom DiPaola (Administrator)

The Governor’s Workforce Board is implementing and funding a paid summer internship program for high school students, and the PrepareRI Internship program application is now live.  The PrepareRI Internship program provides paid summer internships for rising public high school seniors in Rhode Island – this summer is the pilot year and 100 students will be selected to have summer-long internships at top RI companies.

Skills for Rhode Island’s Future has been selected as the intermediary organization to manage the program:  they are managing the application process, will vet and match qualified students to internships, will lead students through a preparation “boot camp” on essential skills and workplace expectations, and will support students and employers throughout the process.

Please help in getting the word out to any eligible and qualified students.  Additional information for students, including student eligibility, a general timeline, and the link to the online application is available on the PrepareRI website at:

Applications are due April 15th; applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so please encourage students to apply early.
